WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue softball team will host its annual Fall Classic tournament this weekend, Oct. 9-10th, at the Varsity Softball Complex. The Boilermakers will play host to Evansville, Bowling Green and Louisville. The tournament begins Saturday at 9 a.m. with Bowling Green taking on Evansville in the opener.
The Boilermakers will take the field on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Bowling Green and then 1 p.m. against Louisville. On Sunday, Purdue will match-up against Evansville at 11 a.m.
The consolation game will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday with the Championship game following at 3 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for students, children two and under are free.
Earlier this fall the Boilermakers won the Bradley Invitational with a perfect 5-0 record. Seniors Danica Maher and Skeeter Nixon led the team in batting with averages of .500 and .471, respectively. Sophomores Chrissy Davie and Katie Crabtree were the RBI leaders with six and four, respectively, while sophomore Nicole Crouse and freshman Leighann Burke each won a pair of games on the mound. The Boilermakers were a perfect 18 for 18 in stolen bases.
